Jamorama Online Guitar Lessons Review
from Ben EdwardsI've counseled many friends who wanted to learn guitar and I've learned this: they want to rock too! And they want to do it now. Jamorama will have the rawest newby strumming and playing tunes by the end of the second lesson--and that makes you want to move on. That's called "learning to play guitar" and that's the job that Jamorama accomplishes so well.
Product description
Ben Edwards, Jamorama's author, is widely recognized as one of the premier online guitar instructors in the world. He's been teaching guitar for over 20 years and he's taken the expertise he's gained as a teacher and put it all in these wonderfully thorough online guitar lessons. But don't be intimidated by Ben's knowledge and experience; the Jamorama course assumes you don't even know how to hold a guitar and thus makes for excellent guitar lessons for beginners.
What the Course Contains
You'll get over 250 pages and 44 lessons which will take you from "Where do I put my fingers" to "How'd I get so good?" Additionally, there are 148 step-by-step video lessons that cover everything from the most basic guitar skills to some very advanced (and impressive!) techniques.
The Jamorama online guitar lessons also come with 5 bonuses, including an ear-training game, "How to Tune Your Guitar" software and the illustrated "Jamorama Chord Kit.
Product Research
Pro's of "Jamorama":
- It's Fun: There's a laid-back feeling to the program that makes you want to move forward and see what's awaiting you in the next lesson.
- It's Efficient: Everything you need to become as good a player as you want is there for you.
- Price: Currently $49.95. That's a whole lot of information for that price.
- 60-day money-back guarantee.
Cons of "Jamorama":
- It's pretty much all tablature. You'll not be learning any music theory, i.e. how chords are constructed. If you never leave the bedroom that probably won't matter. But if you find yourself in a band situation and the song calls for a C#minor, you may be in trouble.
- I'ts all computer based so you'll have to be online to view a lot of the material. I printed out the "book" parts of the program so I could take them with me and study them while eating lunch, for example.
